Cindy_Ginter.jpg (7011 bytes)              ART IS LIFE!

About Me: Cindy Ginter

I am originally from California, born in Marysville and spent a memorable part of my childhood in a suburb of San Diego.  My family moved to the West Suburbs of Illinois and that is where they still reside.  I moved on to Toledo, Ohio to attend the Univ. of Toledo and received my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Counseling.  So, where did the art come in?

I am fortunate to come from a family of artists...talented portrait, stained glass and painters, I began my own self instruction in grade school with their encouragement.   After getting my degree's (parents saying I will starve if I don't get my degree in something practical) I found myself taking pottery classes at the in 577 Foundation is Perrysburg, Ohio in 1995  http://www.577foundation.org/.

A wonderful place to learn, I took an occasional class for two year before creating a studio in my basement.  Started to sell my work in local art shows, as I made too much to keep.

I have taken workshops with Mario Quilles (Raku), Linda Christianson (Stoneware), Susan Filey (Porcelain), Mel Jacobson (Stoneware), Ann Tubbs (Stoneware) and my mentor was Edith Franklin.

In 2004, my sister Wendy Bialek,  started to make jewelry and I started to make clay beads for her to help her and her work stood out from other work as unique and very desireable.  I have been focused on making beads ever since, doing wholesale and retail business.

My Studio is in my home in Whitehouse, Ohio.
